•Volatile. A BSR is a 7-day decay average. The number above is a steady-state estimate, not what you sold yesterday.
•Curve is steep. Lower ranks can imply substantially more daily sales, so compare estimates using the same marketplace.
•Marketplace matters. The estimator applies the selected store's model; the same rank does not imply the same sales in every marketplace.
•Category matters more than rank. "BSR" in a niche category isn't the same as overall Books BSR. Kindle-only ranks lag print.
•eBook 70% royalty only applies $2.99–$12.99 on US, UK, and DE. All other prices drop to 35%. Paperback & Hardcover earn 60% minus printing cost.
